Basketball Recap: Kemper Academy Takes a Loss

Kemper Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. The matchup between the Rams and the Sylva Bay Academy Saints didn't end well, with the Rams falling 41-22. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-26 last Thursday.

As for Sylva Bay Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since January 17, 2023, but that streak is no more.

It was another big night for Lily Hatcher, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynlee Bennett, who had six points and five rebounds.

Kemper Academy and Sylva Bay Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Rams see the court they'll take on Laurel HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on December 16. As for Sylva Bay Academy, their break will end when they face Russell Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 1.
