Baseball Recap: Fowlerville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Eastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fowlerville). They never let the Eastern Quakers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Thursday. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Tyler Ray made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ray was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Cody Cruz and Braylon Charboneau did most of the damage at the plate: Cruz went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Charboneau got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Charboneau a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Soli, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Fowlerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only posted an OBP of .267.

Fowlerville's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Eastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.

Fowlerville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Quakers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
