Basketball Recap: Pineville Takes a Loss

Pineville suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2024 on Monday. They had to suffer through a 71-32 loss at the hands of the Avoyelles Charter Vikings. The Rebels' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Leading Avoyelles Charter to victory were Armonii Benjamin and Jalen Brown. Benjamin went 7 of 11 en route to 16 points along with six assists and four steals, while Brown went 8 of 9 en route to 19 points and three steals. Brown's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Dobbins, who posted nine points and three steals.

Pineville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Avoyelles Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineville will welcome Airline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avoyelles Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against JS Clark Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
