Baseball Recap: Plainview Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, the Plainview Indians came up short against the Warner Eagles and fell 12-8. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plainview got a good showing from Marshal Mansfield, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Brylan Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Plainview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Cooper Flowers was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Plainview now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Warner, the win got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Looking ahead, Plainview will face off against Mount St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Warner, they will host Panama at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Panama's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Warner's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
