Basketball Recap: Carroll Triumphs

North Central came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Carroll, but Paxton Crane wouldn't allow it. The Carroll Chargers walked away with a 60-53 victory over the North Central Panthers on Saturday thanks in part to Crane, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 16 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Carroll's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Morris, who posted 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Carroll's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for North Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

Carroll and North Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Carroll (ranked 152nd) will meet Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (ranked 49th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, North Central will square off against Fishers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 42 places (43 vs. 1).
