Baseball Game Preview: Tarkington Longhorns vs. Hargrave Falcons

Tarkington is 2-7 against Hargrave since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Tarkington will host Hargrave at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hargrave will be up against a hot Tarkington squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Tarkington came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against Hamshire-Fannett.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Hargrave challenged Hardin-Jefferson on Friday. Hargrave sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Hardin-Jefferson. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won four in a row.

Blake Burrow looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Hargrave's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Nixon, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Tarkington's victory bumped their record up to 6-10-1. As for Hargrave, their win bumped their record up to 12-6-2.
