Softball Recap: Pickerington North Takes a Loss

Pickerington North and Olentangy Berlin squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Pickerington North had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Addison Mickey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 7.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Mickey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mickey wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Morris, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Pickerington North dropped their record down to 11-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Olentangy Berlin, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Pickerington North nor Olentangy Berlin have any future games scheduled.
