Soccer Recap: Charleston Math & Science vs. St. John's

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodland, Charleston Math & Science was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the St. John's Islanders 5-1. It was an even better day for Bellamy Voorneveld as she scored three goals for her team.

Something new happened on Tuesday as Itzel Diaz-Velasquez saw her first action of the season, playing 90 minutes against Charleston Math & Science. Diaz-Velasquez made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Charleston Math & Science's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3. As for St. John's, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Charleston Math & Science will be playing at home against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John's, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Baptist School at 5:00 p.m. on April 11th.
