Baseball Recap: Lone Pine Triumphs

Lone Pine won the last time they faced Silver Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 7-2 win over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Tommy Fogarty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Noah Quezada and David Herndon did most of the damage at the plate: Quezada went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Herndon went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Quezada a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Francisco Castro, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Lone Pine's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Silver Valley, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Lone Pine will square off against Mammoth at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silver Valley, they will face off against Barstow at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
