Baseball Recap: Kiefer Drops Highest Score of Season Against Chisholm

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kiefer). They came out on top against the Chisholm Longhorns by a score of 11-8 on Friday. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Trent Cantrell was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Daxton Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Kiefer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kiefer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Chisholm, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Kiefer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-5 loss against Dewey on the 24th. Chisholm has also already played their next game (against Kremlin-Hillsdale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
