Recap: Needville Bluejays vs. Navasota Rattlers
The Needville Bluejays entered their tilt with the Navasota Rattlers with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Needville secured a 45-41 W over Navasota on Friday. Given Needville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Navasota is ranked 648th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Needville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bohdan Zeitz, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Slater, who scored 12 points.
Needville pushed their record up to 22-5 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Navasota, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.
Needville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Navasota, they will be playing at home against Royal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Royal's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
