It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pinewood Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans 13-10. The score was all tied up 3-3 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

Pinewood Christian can attribute much of their success to Sam Wasson, who rushed for 89 yards, and also threw for 86 yards and one TD.

Despite the loss, Edmund Burke Academy still got an impressive performance from Sam Hickman, who rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Pinewood Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Edmund Burke Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Pinewood Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Westfield School at 7:30 p.m. The Hornets' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Thomas Jefferson Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
