Preview: Parker Thundering Herd vs. Homewood Patriots
Parker has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Homewood Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Parker is ranked 27th, while Homewood is ranked 28th).
On Tuesday, Parker was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to Minor.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Janiya Mines, who scored 16 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Teralyn Hill, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Homewood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down Minor 59-41.
Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Homewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
