Volleyball Recap: Solon Takes a Loss

Solon lost against Nordonia back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Comets lost 3-0 to the Knights. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Solon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Nordonia work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 32-30.

Leading Nordonia to victory were Victoria Intas and Avery Palinkas. Intas had 18 digs and six aces, while Palinkas had four digs and two aces. Those six aces gave Intas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Root, who had 22 assists.

Solon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Nordonia, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solon will take on Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Nordonia, they will head out to challenge North Royalton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
