Soccer Game Preview: San Dieguito Academy vs. Torrey Pines

San Dieguito Academy and Torrey Pines are an even 4-4-2 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The San Dieguito Academy Mustangs will welcome the Torrey Pines Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Torrey Pines will have to contend with a San Dieguito Academy squad hungry for a victory, something the team hasn't seen since December 9. San Dieguito Academy took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rancho Bernardo on Friday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Torrey Pines was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Westview. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly two goals.

San Dieguito Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-5. As for Torrey Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

San Dieguito Academy skirted past Torrey Pines 1-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will San Dieguito Academy repeat their success, or does Torrey Pines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
