Mount Hope Christian Academy came tearing into Monday's game with 24 straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mount Hope Christian Academy who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 24-26, 15-6.

MADY SOLE paced Mount Hope Christian Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. SOLE got some help from JOLEY MANKIN and her 27 assists. MCKENNA JONES controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the defeat, Woodrow Wilson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyndra Bailey had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Bailey.

Mount Hope Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Woodrow Wilson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-3.

Coincidentally, Mount Hope Christian Academy and Woodrow Wilson will both be playing James Monroe the next time they take the court. The Warriors will host the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Flying Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
