Baseball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Adirondack Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 last Monday.

Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Capponi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Tyler Grube also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Adirondack, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

While Clinton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
