Volleyball Recap: Davison Cardinals vs. Swan Valley Vikings
Davison had already won two in a row, and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Swan Valley Vikings.
Davison was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (61-59), but they still managed to win. After all that action, the final score was 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Davison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Naves, who had 11 digs and three aces. Naves is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had nine or more in the last eight games she's played. Berklee Stimson was another key player, getting four digs and two aces.
Davison's victory bumped their record up to 8-3-3. As for Swan Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Davison will challenge Carman-Ainsworth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Swan Valley, they will face off against Alma at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alma will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Swan Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
