Estancia had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Raton Tigers on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-6. The Bears are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 22 straight.

Jhenna Valencia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Peyton Looper and Ana Cuevas did most of the damage at the plate: Looper went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Cuevas went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Looper has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Karina Villafuerte was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Estancia's record now sits at 26-2. As for Raton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Estancia will face off against Rehoboth Christian on Wednesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lynx have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Raton, they will challenge Eunice on Wednesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
