Basketball Game Preview: Navajo Prep Eagles vs. Zuni Thunderbirds

Navajo Prep has gone a perfect 10-0 against Zuni recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Navajo Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Navajo Prep can't be too worried about heading out to take on Zuni: they just beat Thoreau at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Navajo Prep strolled past Thoreau with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-54.

Meanwhile, Zuni lost 71-47 to Wingate on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunderbirds have suffered against the Bears since February 5, 2020.

Navajo Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Zuni, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Navajo Prep against Zuni in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 94-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Navajo Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
