Del Oro has gone a perfect 3-0 against Davis Sr. recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Golden Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Davis Sr. took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Del Oro, who comes in off a win.
Del Oro was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Ridge, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.
Del Oro got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 30-32, 19-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Oro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Smith, who had 24 digs and nine assists. Smith has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Joanna Shular, who had eight digs and one assist.
Del Oro was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Davis Sr. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Whitney.
Davis Sr. took Whitney into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-12, 24-26, 25-22, 15-10.
Del Oro will have to contain Audrey Chen as she made an impact in Davis Sr.'s last game. She had ten digs and three aces.
Davis Sr. now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Del Oro, their win bumped their record up to 22-5.
Del Oro took their victory against Davis Sr. in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
