Baseball Game Preview: Mills Vikings vs. El Camino Colts

The Mills Vikings will head out on the road to take on the El Camino Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mills came out on top against San Mateo on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Vikings skirted past the Bearcats 7-5. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Bearcats on their field since April 30, 2022.

Givanni Angelini made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendrick Choi, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Joshua Huei was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, El Camino can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Woodside 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since March 28th.

Nicholas Jang was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of El Camino's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-15 when he doesn't).

Mills' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for El Camino, their record is now 6-15.

Mills came up short against El Camino in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
