Recap: Washingtonville Wizards vs. Warwick Wildcats

The Washingtonville Wizards and the Warwick Wildcats squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Washingtonville Wizards had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Washingtonville of the 43-40 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Several Wizards players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Nesmith, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nesmith has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Sullivan, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Washingtonville's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Warwick, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Washingtonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Warwick, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-40 loss vs. Our Lady of Lourdes on the 2nd.
