Recap: Madison Central Indians vs. Great Crossing

The Madison Central Indians lost against Great Crossing back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Madison Central took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Great Crossing. While losing is never fun, Madison Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Great Crossing is ranked first).

Great Crossing's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Godfrey, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Malachi Moreno, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

Madison Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Great Crossing, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Madison Central will be playing in front of their home fans against West Jessamine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Crossing's road trip will continue as they head out to face Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on January 14th.
