Basketball Recap: South Point Red Raiders vs. Forestview Jaguars

Make it seven blowout wins for the South Point Red Raiders this season. Everything went their way against Forestview on Tuesday as South Point made off with a 68-46 victory. The victory was nothing new for South Point as they're now sitting on six straight.

South Point's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren French, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points French has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amya Graham, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 23 rebounds.

Tralyn Phillips and Miangel Thompson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Phillips scored nine points along with five steals, while Thompson scored 15 points along with two steals. Phillips is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Baker, who scored nine points.

South Point is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Forestview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Point will take on the Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Stuart W. Cramer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Forestview, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Gaston is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
