Calais is still looking for their season's first win. They lost 17-5 to the Houlton Shiretowners on Friday. One positive for Calais, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Calais got a massive performance out of Destiny Holmes, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Avva Cassidy was another key contributor, going 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and an RBI.

Even though they lost, Calais always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've managed all season.

Calais' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Houlton, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calais will square off against Jonesport-Beals at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Calais is facing Jonesport-Beals at the right time seeing as Jonesport-Beals is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Houlton, they will head out on the road to challenge Presque Isle at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Presque Isle will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Houlton surely won't give up without a fight.
