Basketball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Strawberry Crest Chargers. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Strawberry Crest was led to victory by Maximus Von Ancken and Cameron Crowe. Von Ancken almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, while Crowe posted 14 points and five steals. Von Ancken continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Hunter Hall was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Strawberry Crest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

Riverview has already played their next match, a 53-50 win against Robinson on the 21st. As for Strawberry Crest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-66 victory against Brandon on the 21st.
