Basketball Recap: North Skates Past Alhambra with Ease

North entered their tilt with Alhambra on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 73-33 victory over the Alhambra Lions. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Lions are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North was led to victory by Miles Swift and Kaeden Everett. Swift made all 8 shots he took to post 17 points and five boards, while Everett went 6 of 7 en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Swift's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Moises Machuca, who posted 11 points.

North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

North's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Alhambra, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing McClintock the next time they take the court. North will host McClintock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Alhambra will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
