Baseball Game Preview: Saltillo Tigers vs. Warren Central Vikings

For the second straight game, Saltillo will face off against Warren Central. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saltillo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Saltillo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Warren Central. Six seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

KORBIN SHEFFIELD looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on LEVIN DARSEY, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was BEN MONAGHAN, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Saltillo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only posted an OBP of .343.

Saltillo pushed their record up to 24-5 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.
