Colfax gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Union Mine Diamondbacks by a score of 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.
Garrett Lewis was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Lewis wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Austin Liden, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colfax is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Nevada Union at 3:30 p.m. on February 19th. As for Union Mine, they will challenge Center at 3:03 p.m. on Thursday.
