Basketball Recap: Bloomingdale Comes Up Short

Bloomingdale lost against Cross Lanes Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bloomingdale Blazers fell 49-40 to the Cross Lanes Christian Warriors.

When it comes to explaining why Bloomingdale lost, don't look at Aiden Schiedler. Despite the final result, he posted seven points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Schiedler has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Dunkle, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross Lanes Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Shamblin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards. Those 16 rebounds gave Shamblin a new career-high. Landon Ballard was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 12 points and eight boards.

Bloomingdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Cross Lanes Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Bloomingdale has already played their next matchup, a 60-56 win against Hannan on the 17th. As for Cross Lanes Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-16 loss against Calvary Baptist Academy on the 16th.
