Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when St. Joseph Academy and Walsh Jesuit meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Jaguars took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Kami Digennaro produced another solid effort putting up 22 points and five steals for Walsh Jesuit. Those 22 points gave Digennaro a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kara Esterak, who posted 14 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

St. Joseph Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Walsh Jesuit, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Joseph Academy will face off against Magnificat at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Walsh Jesuit, they will challenge Avon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
