Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Piles Up the Points Against Kimball

On Saturday, the Monte Vista Mustangs blew past the Kimball Jaguars, posting a 54-26 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Jaguars are ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Kimball lost, don't look at Tristen DeBenedetti. Despite the final result, he posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

Monte Vista's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Kimball, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-45 win against Pittsburg on the 3rd. Kimball has also already played their next matchup, a 91-65 loss against Modesto Christian on the 3rd.
