Preview: Scott's Branch Eagles vs. Carvers Bay Bears
Scott's Branch is 1-6 against Carvers Bay since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Scott's Branch Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Carvers Bay Bears at 6:30 p.m. Scott's Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Carvers Bay is ranked 108th).
Scott's Branch posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Bethune-Bowman 30-27. Scott's Branch didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Siara Lundy, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tavashia Scott, who scored seven points along with four steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Carvers Bay gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hemingway 60-9 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-7.
Scott's Branch's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Carvers Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Scott's Branch might still be hurting after the 46-26 loss they got from Carvers Bay when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can Scott's Branch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
