Softball Recap: Polo Takes a Loss

If Polo was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Ashton-Franklin Center on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marcos took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastland Cougars on Tuesday. The Marcos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Polo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylee Laskowski, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Laskowski's first of the season.

Polo's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Eastland, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

While Polo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
