Volleyball Recap: Woodmore Comes Up Short

Woodmore lost against Gibsonburg back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Bears. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 16-25, 25-14.

Ariana Florio paced Woodmore's offense, picking up 14 kills. Florio got some help from Vida Guillen and her 12 assists. Finally, Florio was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Woodmore's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Gibsonburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Woodmore will challenge Hopewell-Loudon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gibsonburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Lakota on the 6th.
