Football Recap: Warren Falls to United in First Game of Season

Warren unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the United Longhorns and fell 35-7. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead United to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jorge Luna, who threw for 324 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown. Jesse Garcia-Perez did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 68 receiving yards.

Looking ahead, Warren is taking a road trip to face off against Del Rio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for United, they will be playing at home against Boerne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 915 yards in their previous games.
