Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Lincoln's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Lincoln got themselves on the board against Orange Glen on Friday, but Orange Glen never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Hornets have won 15 contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Nyema Curtis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.

Lincoln has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.9 runs over those games. As for Orange Glen, they dropped their record down to 11-13-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
