Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Gets the Win

Shadow Ridge came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tolleson Wolverines on Thursday, sneaking past 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Stallions: when they faced off against the Wolverines last Tuesday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Jordyn Scott was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. McKayla Ethington was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Shadow Ridge back to even at 6-6-1. As for Tolleson, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4.

Shadow Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 defeat against Corona del Sol on the 31st. As for Tolleson, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-2 win against Cesar Chavez on the 1st.
