Volleyball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. Smithfield Packers + How To Watch

Lafayette is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Smithfield a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lafayette Rams will be playing at home against the Smithfield Packers at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Lafayette came up short against Tabb and fell 3-1. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-20 in the first set.

Lafayette started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Smithfield lost 3-0 to Poquoson on Thursday.

While Smithfield was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Poquoson's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-21.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Lafayette beat Smithfield 3-1 in their previous meeting back in August. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Packers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
