Baseball Recap: Moorpark Triumphs

Moorpark won against St. Bonaventure last Saturday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Musketeers never let the Agoura Chargers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Musketeers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

The result came thanks to Ronan O'Connell's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, AJ Mai and Taylor Busch did most of the damage at the plate: Mai scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Busch scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Blake Guy was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Moorpark now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Agoura, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moorpark will welcome Thousand Oaks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Agoura, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Chatsworth at 11:30 a.m. The Chancellors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
