Football Recap: Mt. Zion Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Mt. Zion Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Friendship Collegiate Academy Knights. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 19-6 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brendan Perkins threw for 67 yards on ten of 26 attempts.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Mt. Zion Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. Mt. Zion Prep Academy's defense better be ready for this one: Cornerstone Christian has averaged an impressive 30.7 points per game this season. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 29-18 defeat against Highland Springs on the 17th.
