Softball Recap: Pewamo-Westphalia Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Perry, Pewamo-Westphalia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bath Fighting Bees 6-4. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Fighting Bees walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Summer Wirth was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reylee Thelen, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Pewamo-Westphalia's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Bath, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
