Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Logan Memorial Education Campus Eagles, falling 75-43. Cristo Rey was down 57-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Cristo Rey lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nathan Marasign, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Alcazar, who earned 12 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Cristo Rey was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Moises Perez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Logan Memorial Education Campus, putting up 43 points. Another player making a difference was LaRell Dunn, who had 14 points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Logan Memorial Education Campus, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

Cristo Rey will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Horizon Prep at 3:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Logan Memorial Education Campus, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-45 loss against Bayfront Charter on the 20th.
