Baseball Game Preview: Ridge Red Devil vs. Westfield Blue Devils

Ridge is 0-3 against Westfield since May of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Red Devil will square off against the Blue Devils. Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Westfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Elizabeth by a score of 5-1. The Red Devil haven't had any issues with the Minutemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Westfield faced Woodbridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Barrons. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Ridge's win bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Westfield, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 21-6.

Ridge couldn't quite finish off Westfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can the Red Devil avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
