Softball Recap: Sylacauga's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Sylacauga dropped their record down to 11-16 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Munford Lions, falling 6-0. Considering the last time the Aggies couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Munford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-5-1. Considering they have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Munford's part, Brooklyn Pressley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Pressley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

In other batting news, Addyson Britt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jena Gaither, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.

Looking ahead, Sylacauga will welcome Fayetteville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Munford, they will be taking part in a tournament against West End at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
