Softball Recap: Juanita Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Juanita, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Liberty Patriots by a score of 4-1 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Ravens: when they faced off against the Patriots back in March, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Elliott Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Erah Berg, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Calista Labugen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Juanita's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Coming up, Juanita is taking a road trip to challenge Bothell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will welcome Lake Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
