Basketball Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. Land O' Lakes Gators
The Forest Wildcats are on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Land O' Lakes Gators at 8:00 p.m. on February 7th. One thing working in Forest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Forest walked away with it. They really took it to the Bulls for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-30 victory on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Forest had established a 38 point advantage.
Forest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja'Niyah McCoy led the charge by scoring 19 points along with two steals. McCoy hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. Taleah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes was beaten by the Jaguars 67-27 on Friday. Land O' Lakes has struggled against the Jaguars recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Forest is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Land O' Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
