Baseball Game Preview: Santa Fe Catholic Hawks vs. Bozeman Bucks

The Santa Fe Catholic Hawks will take on the Bozeman Bucks in a tournament on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Santa Fe Catholic 1.2, Bozeman 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Santa Fe Catholic is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Owasso just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-1. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Bozeman had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-5 victory. Considering the Bucks have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Zac Flitcraft, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Blake Waites, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Bozeman pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
