Preview: Fennville Blackhawks vs. Watervliet Panthers
Fennville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Watervliet Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Fennville came up short against Lawrence and fell 46-35. Fennville has struggled against Lawrence recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Watervliet took a serious blow against Kalamazoo Christian on January 9th, falling 59-18. While losing is never fun, Watervliet can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Kalamazoo Christian is ranked 58th).
Fennville's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Watervliet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Fennville was taken down by Watervliet 59-18 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Fennville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
